Assistant Director, Retail Operations Process Management

That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

In short, as an Assistant Director of Retail Operations Process Management you and your team drive continuous improvement by defining and owning all phases of the process and product life cycle from ideation to implementation. You will partner with cross-functional teams to revolutionize the car buying experience by improving our enterprise processes and systems in our retail dealerships. You’ll lead the identification and valuation of opportunities and problems, determining root causes, identifying gaps and countermeasures, and lead the implementation of process and product solutions that drive strategic initiatives at our retail locations. All along the way you’re communicating and aligning product development with business stakeholders and ensuring the strategy and roadmaps align with the organization’s goals.

In long, our Assistant Director, Retail Operations Process Management team is responsible for:

  • Product vision and ownership of the process and product life cycle including taking projects from ideation to innovation; performing gap analysis, leading project valuation, defining business requirements, determining appropriate solution and approach, launch plan creation, and product adoption assessments

  • Proposing roadmap strategies, tradeoff/risk assessments, and owning project definition

  • Owning feature creation and delivery to the implementation team, while building a prioritized feature backlog

  • Facilitating and leading discussions with IT, business users, analytics, and vendors to define business requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure efforts are focused on critical needs

  • Researching, compiling, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative information to conclude and communicate well-reasoned decisions

  • Establishing schedules, guidelines, and procedures and determining the most effective way to deliver a complete solution to an identified problem

  • Explore and propose different solutions for the same problem, situation, or workflow using your knowledge of business requirements

  • Analyzing whether to buy, build, or partner to complete the solution to solve business problems

  • Organizing multiple projects at one time that span multiple business units

  • Leading a team of Process and/or Product Analysts to improve operational efficiencies and product enhancements

  • Takes a hold of the wheel. You’ll need to take the initiative and be comfortable doing so.

The Specifics

  • Passion for continuous improvement; 7-10 years of process improvement, preferably business process improvement

  • Bachelor’s degree required, bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or MBA preferred

  • Demonstrate experience in developing product roadmaps, creating process flow maps, root cause analysis, new process introduction and change management,

  • Advanced problem solving skills

Nice to haves

  • 2+ years of software Product Management or Product Ownership preferred

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
