DriveTime Needs an Analyst, Financial Risk

That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

In short, as the Analyst, Financial Risk you will be responsible for leverage analysis of large datasets and strategic business acumen to formulate risk-based strategies and to execute financial and economic modeling of various business problems.

In long, the Analyst, Financial Risk Analyst is responsible for:

·       Collaborating with pricing, data science, finance teams to develop and execute valuation tools leveraged throughout the organization

·       Performing analysis on value-creating strategies and evaluating customer segment and product performance; leveraging insights to optimize business development strategies.

·       Supporting a holistic view across all business partners making recommendations on strategic business changes.

·       Integrating customer credit, origination, and performance data to generate relevant, actionable insights and make recommendations to senior executives across DriveTime’s business segments.

·       Constructing in-depth quantitative analysis by processing, manipulating, and studying large datasets by leveraging strong SQL, Python, R, and Excel skills.

·       Leading large analytically based initiatives to reveal step-change improvements in profitability of business.

·       Demonstrating strong conceptual skills supported by rigorous quantitative analysis to recommend strategic initiatives to senior management. Leveraging emerging technologies and critical thinking skills to continually innovate and automate existing methodologies, processes, and reporting.

·       Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of consumer credit that stretches across loan profitability, as well as revenue and loss items

·       Effectively communicating with concise insights and/or visualizations utilizing software such as Tableau or Power BI while partnering collaboratively with colleagues and senior leaders in DriveTime.

·       Being self-driven and able to take initiative to further the success of the business.

The Specifics.

·       Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as economics, finance, statistics, engineering, or hard science.

·       1+ years of experience in data analytics and/or predictive modelling.

·       Exceptional problem-solving skills, collaborative teamwork, intellectual horsepower, curiosity, initiative, and attention to detail.

·       Demonstrated skill and extensive experience developing quantitative analysis in Excel.

·       Experience in the following coding languages such as SQL, R, Java, or Python.

·       Ability to simplify complexity and communicate statistical and analytical concepts and findings to executive, operational, and technical audiences with appropriate levels of detail and emphasis.

The nice to haves.

·       Advanced degree in a quantitative or STEM field.

·       Prior experience in financial risk modeling, loss forecasting or related.

·       Prior experience in consumer auto lending preferred or related consumer finance.

·       Experience or exposure to ML learning techniques.
