RC Team Lead, Quality and Logistics

Responsibilities of the Job (Or Better Known as, Your Next Destination):

Responsible for leading a team of technicians, cosmetic associates, or detailers by personal demonstration, observation, and ongoing coaching to improve performance and help the center hit production targets.

  • Review and identify mechanical and/or cosmetic defects of incoming inventory and properly document needs, to ensure adherence to DriveTime standards.
  • Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Reconditioning Center safely for repairs, while meeting or exceeding set production, cost, and quality goals.
  • Mentor and train a small team of technicians, cosmetic repair technicians, or detailers to complete tasks effectively, minimizing errors, waste, and delays in production.
  • Observe, assess, and participate in both inspection and repair procedures to maximize efficiencies and decision-making processes.
  • Work in ways to decrease the possibility of injury to yourself or other team members in the shop due to spills or other preventable hazardous conditions.

  • Must lead, train, and develop your team members to complete tasks and assignments
  • Must have the ability to lead others to achieve production targets
  • Must always practice and promote safety in the workplace to eliminate hazard to one’s self and team members
  • Must be able to retain training instruction, implement feedback received, and adapt to any and all changes in production processes
  • May require up to 15% travel to support training needs and business operations.

Requirements (a.k.a. What You Need to Get the Job Done)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Trade school or ASE’s are nice to have as well.
  • 2+ years managing a minimum of 15 employees or more (Supply chain management preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ automotive repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

  • Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to consistently operate a vehicle and other productivity machinery, such as heavy equipment and power tools.
  • This position could require moving objects up to 60 pounds.
  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
  • May need to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces, such as underneath a vehicle.
  • Frequently communicate with internal customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequently move about the workplace to access various machinery, vehicles, etc.
  • May work in an environment that could be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
