A Day in the Life of an Inventory Purchasing Clerk

That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

 

In short, as an Inventory Purchasing Clerk you will be responsible for verifying data, ensuring accuracy and tracking information for DriveTime’s vast inventory.

 

In long, our Inventory Purchasing Clerks are responsible for:

 

  • Receiving incoming buy sheet for vehicles purchased at auction and verify accuracy of information
  • Generating vehicle inventory record in ERP system
  • Communicating through phone calls/email to get correct information (examples: VIN number, mileage, price, etc)
  • Vehicle arbitrations (cars purchased where it is later determined DriveTime does not want the vehicle due to a problem: flagging, backing out invoices, reversals)
  • Selling out Arbitrations, Negative Sales, and Lease Payoffs
  • Creating cost adjustments and update unit pricing
  • Researching payment inquiries from auctions
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A mind for the details. Okay we know “detail-oriented” is on about every job description – but we really mean it! 
  • Agile in a fast-paced environment. We move, and we move quickly. Thriving in an environment that never stops, is a must.
  • Plays well with others. You will be working in a high-functioning team environment.  We work together in order to win together.
  • Organization and time management skills in spades. You’ll be handling multiple projects and deadlines that will require you to prioritize then re-prioritize… then… re-prioritize again.

 

 

The Specifics.

 

  • Associate’s Degree (Bachelor Degree preferred)
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office (Particularly Microsoft Excel)

When I’m not rock climbing, which sadly is most days, I also enjoy playing recreational sports like kickball, ultimate Frisbee, and softball with friends or taking my dog out to the dog park…or, honestly, furiously binge watching a new show on Netflix.
